One More Night, 6 of 7

"Are you ready to die?"

1This is part six of the story of the day a man tried to kill me, and the supernatural2 events that occurred that saved me.

Trigger warning for violence.

I run as hard and fast as I can. I don’t look behind me. I don’t listen for his footsteps. I just keep running. And at some point, I run out of breath. I’m bent over and I’m trying to gasp for air when this feeling of dread comes over me again, and then I suddenly don’t care anymore.

And I just fall to my knees in despair. I am so broken. And I look up into the sky and I say, “I am so sorry that I failed you. Please forgive me for letting them win.”

I didn’t ask to be saved because I didn’t feel like I deserved it. I had failed them. And I had accepted the consequences of my actions, and that would be, death by Allen.

And in that moment, I was infinite. I could feel the Earth rotate as it flew through space. I was always, and when I took a breath, so did time.

I stood up and felt no fear. And I was definitely being guided. I didn’t need to think. I just needed to allow.

I turned back around and started walking back where I came from.

I started hearing a low, rhythmic sound, and then I saw Allen3. He was kneeling in a circle in the middle of the road and chanting. I just walk right by him, and as I do, he grabs me, and he has a hold of my jacket, and I just twist out of it and keep walking.

I see my car and I walk up to it, but that’s not where I’m supposed to go, so I keep walking.

I walk past it and then turn and go into the long grass, then into the edge of the woods.

I lean down and I pick something up. It’s my keys.

When I turn around, Allen is right there in my face.

I squeeze my hand around my keys just in time for him to punch me in the face. This knocks me to the ground, and that inner voice says, “Hold on to your keys. Concentrate on your keys.”

Allen grabs me by the leg and drags me to the circle. He stops, lets my leg drop, and then kicks me. He leans over and he’s screaming in my face. He starts telling me the things he’s going to do to me before and after I die. He tells me that he’s going to be rewarded greatly for my heart.

He grabs me by my hair and yanks me up. He grabs me by my shoulders and starts shaking me. Then he pulls me in close and says, “Are you ready to die?”

I answer, “Yes. I am ready to die.”

This video is just one of my stories told through the art of verbal storytelling. I’ve deliberately excluded many of the details to keep the narrative flowing smoothly, but encourage you to ask me questions.

2

I am not religious. I am more of a “I know something loving and beautiful is out there and I’m just going to roll with it instead of getting caught up in trying to define it” sort of person.
